Ever ask yourself: Why am I doing the work I do? Is it because someone told you that you should? If someone tells you to do something and the work is not connected with your passion or values it is much harder to get the leadership process going.
That could be because the vision doesn’t come from someplace inside yourself. It is external. I found this Tedx video with an example of a person, Scott Dinsmore, who decides to look deeper at his own values and strengths to find meaning in his work and connect with a vision that inspired him to lead himself and eventually others.
